Drone Pilot course - get your Drone Pilot certificate

The aim of the drone pilot modules is to give the participants the knowledge and skills to carry out basic tasks, where a drone is necessary, using safe working procedures and the correct SOP’s.

The drone pilot course is targeted candidates with or without previous experience and knowledge of flying UAV’s or drones, who wish to become a licensed drone pilot in the following category:

Category 1A – Drones up to 2,5 kg

Upon completion of the drone pilot course, candidates will possess an awareness of flying skills, drone parts, aerodynamics etc., which will prepare the candidates for work with drones in several industries including onshore and offshore related activities in the wind, oil & gas and maritime industries.

The Drone courses is conducted by WeFly ApS, company reg.no 374322652, who is approved by Danish Transport Authority.

Course Content

The course is a mix of both theory and practical training.

Course Objectives

  • Privacy
  • Airspace
  • Airmanship and safety
  • Human factors
  • Basic meteorology
  • Basic map knowledge
  • Basic aircraft knowledge
  • Drone parts
  • Communication
  • Operational procedures
  • Flight safety

Practical module:

  • Flight rules
  • The chosen category
  • Flight preparation
  • Carrying out the flight
  • After flight

Admission Requirements

Cat. 1A

The candidate must be minimum 18 years of age.

Cat. 1B

The candidate must be minimum 18 years of age.

Flight experience required

9 flights, minimum 2 hours

Cat. 2
The candidate must be minimum 18 years of age.

Flight experience required

9 flights, minimum 2 hours

Exam

Theory exam:

  • 45 minutes, multiple choice
  • 30 questions
  • Min. 80% correct answers

Practical exam:

  • 30–45 min. pr. student
  • Flight will be carried out on chosen category
  • Exercises must be flown controlled

When passed the participants have acquired the cat. 1A license.
