Course content

During the 2 days of “Basic Contract Management”, we'll get into all the elements needed to perform Contract Lifecycle Management, CLM:

• The strategic, tactical and operational levels of contract management
• The role of leadership when implementing and maintaining CM activities
• Key performance indicators that represents "good practice contract management" and how and to whom to report the KPI's
• How you can develop good practice contract management in your own organization, with reference to the new available benchmark data
• The different phases of the contract lifecycle, and the activities that needs to be conducted in the different phases of CLM
• Risk management
• The other relevant disciplines working in tandem with contract management, such as strategic procurement, supplier relationship management etc. 
• Integration of knowlegde management as part of the contract management

In addition to this, you will learn:

• The basic rules of contract law and the most important contract clauses and how to plan, negotiate, draft and manage them 
• The essential "language" and methodology of contract management, the most important terms and processes

The form of the course

The teaching combines theoretical introduction with practical examples, reflections and exercises, as well as dialogue and networking.

The course is partly interactive, so that you will be able to reflect on your own role, and the actions needed in your own organization. 

As a part of the course a LinkedIn-group for the participants will be established - for reflections and follow-up on thoughts and actions.
