MBA - Executive Master in Business Administration

The MBA (Master of Business Administration) at AVT Business School is an intensive executive postgraduate degree. It is designed to expand the functional knowledge base of general managers as well as hone their ability to lead in an increasingly global business environment. T

he MBA builds upon the successful completion of the CBA program and delves further into the key aspects of business – from strategy, leadership and marketing to finance, operations management and human resources.

The MBA is a 12-month program with three study days per month.

AVT MBA Program

The AVT MBA Program is an exciting journey in understanding the roles of the general manager and the leader in a globalizing world. The theme of the AVT MBA is "Responsible Leadership in a Globalizing World," which is inspired by the GRLI and PRME concepts.

Besides all the traditional MBA topics such as e.g. Finance and Strategy, we will work with issues of responsible leadership, both in terms of corporate social responsibility, ethics, cross cultural management and sustaniable business.

The Leadership Development Process (LDP) will prepare you to become a Globally Responsible Leader in the 21st century. Throughout the year, you will apply insights from the LDP learning experiences to your current and future leadership development. Topics include: leadership style, reputation management, cross-cultural competence, leading teams, leading with compassion and conviction, and increasing personal and professional alignment.

Immersion on Study Tour to Shanghai

On the MBA Study Tour we visit Chinese and International Managers working in Shanghai. We call this "immersion" - as it gives the participants an insight into the minds of the people who live and work in this unique environment that have such a large impact on global business.

On the MBA program you dig deeper into the various management topics and further develop your skills as a leader and general manager.

The Executive MBA classes at AVT have a maximum of 45 participants. All participants must have completed their CBA successfully within the previous three years.

Admission Criteria

Successful completion of the CBA program with a combined GPA (grade point average) of "B" (3.00) or better and a first degree is required for admission to the MBA program. This requirement of a first degree can only be waived in exceptional cases for candidates with substantial and proven professional experience who have achieved a GPA of 3.40 or above on the CBA program. A first degree is a bachelor's degree, a professions bachelor's, a master's or Ph.D. degree, or the Danish HD Diploma. The MBA program can be started no later than three calendar years after graduation from the CBA Program.

Global Responsible Leadership at AVT

AVT Business School strongly promotes the concept of Globally Responsible Leadership in our Executive MBA program and we are among the first adopters in Denmark of the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education. We see educating business leaders as key to the success of the Global Compact and have made CSR an active part of the curriculum. Grundfoss, Carlsberg and latest LEGO have joined AVT in providing live cases to the MBA class room.
